Capita The Matriarch is a brand new freeride and all mountain snowboard developed together with freestyle legend Torstein Horgmo. The board combines the feel and creativity of the park with the stability, float and control required for big mountains, natural features and deep powder.
The Matriarch has a directional shape with a longer nose, a slightly shorter tail and 20.3 mm setback. The design provides better float in pow and a natural position when carving or riding in steep and varied terrain. At the same time, the balanced shape and smooth transition between contact points allow the board to retain a playful freestyle feel.
The traditional Alpine V4 Directional profile has clear camber through the center of the board and low and softly raised sections in the nose and tail. The result is explosive pop, stable edge grip and high precision without the board feeling dull and boring. The large radii in the nose and tail help The Matriarch to float like a powder board while flexing and reacting like a freestyle board.
Capita The Matriarch is hand-built in Austria at The Mothership™, where snowboard production is powered by 100% self-produced clean energy.
Flex: Directional 7/10
A stable and responsive flex with enough playfulness for freestyle-influenced riding. The flex provides good support at high speed, on landings and through varying snow conditions.
The scale is built on the principle that 1 is "Soft and playful" while 10 is "Hard and responsive".
