No doubt that Vans is one of the biggest brands on the market, with both Snowboard Boots and Skate Shoes worn by skaters all over the world.
How and when was Vans founded?
Vans was founded by brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren along with Gordon Lee and Serge Delia. The Van Doren Rubber Company eventually became the name of the company and on March 16th, 1966, the factory opened for production and their first shoe to leave the factory was the classic Vans Authentic which still is seen on the streets daily.
The years go by, more classic models appear on the market such as Vans Era and Vans Old Skool. In 1977, Vans Old Skool became the world's first shoe that was made for skateboarding, reinforced leather panels and the durable waffle sole set the bar for what a skateboard shoe should look like. With the well-known Vans-line (Jazz Stripe) on the side and a slim design, the Old Skool is still worn by all kinds of people.
During the 1980s, not only skateboarding had started to take off, but also snowboarding had started to appear on the ski slopes. With the success of Vans shoes, there was no doubt that Vans would start making snowboard boots and in 1995 Vans was ready with a whole new range of snowboard boots.
Today, Vans is one of the leading manufacturers of shoes and snowboard boots on the market with stylish design and good quality. In recent years, Vans snowboard boots have become a first choice among those whose looking for a boot that is comfortable and looks almost like a regular shoe with stylish Vans design.
On the Snowboard team we see famous skiers such as Arthur Longo, Alek Oestreng, Pat Moore, Nils Arvidson, Rene Rinnekangas, Hana Beaman, Jamie Lynn, Mary Rand and more.
