Assembling a Skateboard
Assembling a skateboard may seem challenging the first time you do it. However, it's easier than many people think. In this guide, we'll help you assemble your first skateboard, from applying grip tape to assembling all the parts. Being able to assemble your skateboard is both fun and a valuable skill to have.What Parts Do You Need?

What Do You Need?
- Razor blade - To trim excess grip tape.
- Skate tool - Skateboard tool or appropriate tools.
Step-by-Step Skateboard Assembly Guide:

The first step is applying the grip tape.
Start by removing the backing from the grip tape, then stretch and center it on the top of the skateboard so that no edges of the board are visible.

Gently press the grip tape onto the board and use the backing paper to smooth out any air bubbles.

Once the grip tape is securely attached, trim any excess grip tape. Start by running a metal edge or similar tool along the edges of the board to create a thin white line on the grip tape, outlining the board's contours. This will make it easier to trim the excess grip tape.

Next, use a razor blade to carefully trim away the excess grip tape. One tip is to cut at a slight angle from underneath for a clean edge. Then, wrap a piece of grip tape around the edges to tidy up any imperfections. In this step, also make holes in the grip tape where the screws will go.

Now it's time to mount the trucks on the board.
Start by inserting the screws into the eight holes, then place the trucks and tighten the screws. It's easiest to use a skate tool, but a wrench will also work.

Next, mount the wheels and bearings on the trucks.
Begin by standing the board on its edge. Place a bearing on the axle of the truck and press the wheel onto the bearing. Repeat this for all four wheels on the skateboard.
Use the two washers that come with the trucks on either side of each wheel to protect the bearings from wear and tear.
When all eight bearings are in place, it's time to attach the wheels to the trucks. Make sure to leave a small gap between the wheel and the nut on the truck to prevent flat spots on the wheels and allow them to spin freely.
