Snowboard - Jones Howler 158
Howler was developed together with Victor de Le Rue and Elena Hight, combining full-throttle freeride performance with a freestyle feel. The result is a stable, poppy snowboard that wants to go fast, fly far and stomp landings in technical terrain.
The directional shape and High Power Camber profile deliver tons of edge hold, response and pop. Howler has pronounced camber through almost the entire board, giving you confidence when bombing down an icy chute or setting an edge on firm snow. The nose is slightly wider than the tail, helping it float and making the board more composed when the snow gets deep.
3D Flip Tips reduce the chance of the nose or tail catching and make it easier to slash, spin and steer through choppy snow. Medium Traction Tech adds extra bite on firm and icy sections. In other words, Howler is not built for mellow Sunday laps. It is built for creative freeriding, big sends and that feeling when the whole mountain turns into a natural terrain park.
The board is factory waxed and tuned, ready for the mountain!
Flex: 8/10
Stable and responsive flex with plenty of power for high speeds, big landings and technical freeriding.
The scale is based on 1 being "Soft and Playful" and 10 being "Stiff and Responsive".
Intended use: Freeride x Freestyle
Choose the Howler if you want a powerful snowboard for steep lines, powder, pillows and big sidehits. It performs best when ridden actively and when you use the entire mountain as your playground.
Freeride: 9/10
All-Mountain: 7/10
Freestyle: 9/10
Recommended level:
Advanced
Shape:
Directional Shape:
A directional shape with a longer nose, shorter tail and 8 mm of taper. The shape provides better float in powder and stable control at speed.
3D Flip Tips:
3D-shaped, lifted edges in the nose and tail reduce the chance of catching, improve float and make spins, slashes and quick direction changes smoother.
Medium Traction Tech:
Wavy steel edges create additional contact points with the snow and provide better grip on firm and icy surfaces.
Profile:
High Power Camber:
A high, nearly full-length camber profile that delivers maximum edge hold, explosive pop and stability. The profile is built to stay composed at speed and provide extra power when stomping tricks and landings.
Construction:
Power Core:
An advanced triple-density wood core made from bamboo, paulownia and poplar. Bamboo adds pop, strength and torsional stiffness, while paulownia keeps the weight down and dampens vibrations.
Koroyd®:
An ultralight, vibration-dampening material integrated into the wood core that makes turns quicker and smoother.
BComp Carbon Flax Stringers:
Carbon and flax-fiber reinforcements where the carbon delivers quick response and powerful pop, while the flax absorbs vibrations and settles the board in choppy snow.
Triax Fiberglass:
Triaxial fiberglass laid in multiple directions provides precise power transfer, stability and a powerful feel in variable conditions.
Premium Topsheet:
A durable, scratch-resistant topsheet designed for daily use in demanding mountain environments.
Sintered 8000 Base:
A fast and durable sintered base with high wax absorption. Easy to repair and built to maintain excellent glide over many seasons.
