Snowboard Binding - Rome Katana AW FASE Black
The binding that has become a modern classic and a benchmark for ultra-adjustable premium bindings. If you are particular about your riding experience and the connection between your board and bindings, the Katana lets you fine-tune every detail.
Rome Katana AW FASE is the binding for riders who want fast entry without giving up the feel and control of a traditional two-strap binding. Step in with any standard snowboard boot, let the AutoBack close around your heel and tighten the FastStrap with one hand - then you are ready to ride.
The binding is built on Rome’s AsymWrap platform, which provides a surfy and tweak-friendly feel with excellent board contact. OmniFlex Ankle Straps and ProGrip Toe Straps distribute pressure evenly across the boot, while the 2° canted Dual Density Footbed absorbs vibrations and hard landings.
PivotMount FASE lets you move the ankle strap between several positions for more power or a looser feel. Katana AW FASE is faster and easier to use while retaining the response, comfort and versatility that have made Katana a favorite across the whole mountain.
Never Miss a Day Kit
Extra ladders, screws and washers are included with the binding, perfect if a small spare part is needed during the season.
We recommend matching the stiffness (Response Rating/Flex) of your snowboard, bindings and boots as closely as possible for the best performance from your setup. Ask us if you need help!
Recommended Use:
Katana AW FASE is ideal for riders looking for a lightweight, responsive and extremely adjustable binding for the whole mountain. It can be tuned from a surfy and playful feel to a more locked-in and powerful setup.
Response Rating: 6-8/10
Adjustability: 10/10
Recommended Level:
Intermediate-Advanced
Technical Information:
FASE® Fast Entry System - Fast entry and exit with the control and secure fit of a traditional two-strap binding. The system works with standard snowboard boots.
AutoBack - The highback closes automatically as the boot enters the binding and opens when you lift your foot out. It can also fold flat for chairlifts and storage.
FastStrap - The long ankle ladder remains connected to the buckle, allowing fast one-handed strapping with a traditional ratchet for fine-tuning.
Locked-In Toe Strap - The toe strap is set once and remains in position between runs for fast entry, while still allowing adjustments during the day.
AsymWrap Chassis - Three connection points create a surfy and playful platform with natural board flex and reliable edge control.
OmniFlex Ankle Straps - A responsive AuxTech® strap with a TPU spine that provides even pressure distribution, comfort and rapid energy transfer.
ProGrip Toe Straps - The AuxTech® pattern shapes evenly around the boot for a secure hold without unnecessary pressure points.
PivotMount FASE® - Four positions on each side of the ankle strap provide 16 possible combinations for a more powerful or more playful feel.
Adjustable Baseplate - Length adjustment makes it easier to center the boot and optimize the fit.
Universal Adjustable Disks - An adjustable mounting disc compatible with 2x4, 4x4 and Channel systems.
2° Dual Density Footbed - A canted dual-density footbed that absorbs vibrations and creates a more natural stance.
Composite Construction - A baseplate made from 30% fiberglass and 70% nylon, a highback made from 15% fiberglass and 85% nylon, and a forged aluminum heel hoop.
