Monarch Step On is a pair of lightweight snowboard boots for both the slopes, park, and powder with just the right amount of support and response. It’s the perfect snowboard boots for the rider who want a quick and easy way of strapping onto the snowboard with the Nitro fit. With Step On, there are no complicated moments at the lift or straps to step on, only pure and maximized snowboarding. You simply click your foot into the binding and you're ready to go in seconds.

Monarch Step On features a liner (Cloud 3 Liner) with distinct cushioning in the heel for optimal heel hold and a comfortable fit right from day one. The liner can also be heat-molded for those who want it and is equipped with a footbed (Ortholite Footbed) that absorbs impacts and wicks away moisture. Above the ankle, there is an ankle strap adjustable with BOA for extra support.
Monarch Step On has molded reinforcement along the entire heel area (Armored Spine) that maintains the stiffness of the boots while minimizing the chances of stretching at the back and losing heel hold. The quick lacing system (BOA, TLS & ILS) ensures a perfect fit without pressure points, while also making it easy to get in and out of the boots with minimal effort.

The Cloud 3 combines pre-molded Thermacell materials, molded Latex heel pads, and Lo-Heel Frame into one lightweight, a comfortable package offering a solid foothold, no heel lift, and plenty of support and warmth to keep you out longer. Heat Moldable.

TLS Lacing System (Shell)
Nitro leading the pack with the TLS 5 lacing system: Easy lace engagement and release, combined with the low abrasion of our Dyneema® laces are the key factors of this highly reliable zonal lacing system. At the same time, the TLS 5 features compact size and low weight while maintaining the reliability proven by tens of thousands of days on the mountain. Even though rarely needed, servicing and replacement of all parts including the lace are easier than with any other system on the market. Even using a standard lace if you‘re in a pinch is an option only available on Nitro‘s TLS boots.
Easy-entry handle storage pockets as well as our Bail Out system for easier entry and exit round off the most developed dual lacing system on the market.
BOA Ankle Strap
An Ankle strap on the boots with BOA adjustment. Increases the support and foothold.
ILS Lacing System (Liner)
Our ILS system features a lacing harness firmly connected to the boot shell. This harness snugly wraps around the liner, securing it in the shell and providing precise lacing and fit. Our engineered ILS laces provide less friction and a Dyneema® core for added strength.
Re/Lace Liner Locker
Another innovation from our friendly R&D department at Nitro: The RE/LACE Liner Locker provides easy adjustability of your inner boot lacing when your boot shell is already tied, by just pulling up on the lace handle. This allows you to (re)tighten your liner and foothold throughout the day (wherever you may find yourself on the mountain) without having to untie your boot.
Bail Out System
Designed to make unlacing the TLS system even easier. This pull tab that is placed in the middle of the TLS lacing system on the outside of the boot allows for effortless unlacing and recording breaking speeds for taking your boots off.

Armored Spine
We are using an anatomically shaped and 3D molded heel reinforcement to provide even boot flex and long-lasting heel fit.
Flex Link
A flexible panel at the ankle between the upper and lower shell ensures an even flexing, responsive boot without the bulk.
45° Laceglider
This precision-molded low-friction plastic insert is positioned at the crucial 45° lacing position in the ankle area. It drastically reduces lace friction and makes tying up your TLS system even easier.
Ortholite Footbeds
Together with OrthoLite®, the World’s Leading Supplier of Open-Cell Foam Insole Technology, we have developed footbeds in dual and triple density versions for different levels of support and comfort: OrthoLite® compresses less than 5% with excellent levels of shock absorption and energy return. Fit and comfort inside the boot will remain consistent for the life of the OrthoLite® product.
The unique open cell structure of OrthoLite® also creates a moisture management system inside the boot by moving moisture away from the foot leaving your feet drier. When the foot is removed from the shoe any remaining moisture dries very quickly due to the airflow allowed by the open cell network in the foam. OrthoLite® contains a patented anti-microbial formulation to fight fungus, bacteria, and odor. The biocide is added during formulation so that it is linked to the foam and will not wear off or lose effectiveness over time. The Aegis anti-microbial treatment is EPA and FDA approved. OrthoLite® is extremely lightweight providing optimum performance and without adding excess weight to the boot. OrthoLite® is completely washable and will not hydrolyze. Just throw them in your washing machine and they come out like new.

Nitro Step On is the snowboard binding for the riders who want fast, smooth, and responsive riding with maximized time snowboarding down the mountain without any struggle. No complicated steps at the lift or straps to step on; you simply click your foot in and you're ready to ride in seconds. There are three smart contact points: two at the toes and one at the heel. To exit the binding, you pull a lever, and that's the only time you'll need to bend down.

Nitro’s binding features Air Plus cushioning made from ETPU, which stores energy and helps you pop higher and land more comfortably. Compatible with Burton’s Step On system, Nitro Step On gives you the freedom to pair it with boots from both Nitro and Burton. However, please note that Step On bindings only work with Step On boots.
Keep in mind that Step On bindings and boots are made in gender-specific sizes and are only compatible with each other. Carefully study the size guide, as it’s essential to have the correct size between boots and bindings, otherwise it could result in functional and safety issues.
